Kristin Merkling is a highly respected hairstylist, educator, and Hair Department Head with over two decades of experience in both salon and on-set environments. Born in the Panama Canal Zone and raised around the world in a military family, Kristin’s global perspective and creative drive led her to a lifelong career in hairstyling.

After launching her own successful salon, Salon Nolas, in San Diego, she quickly rose through the ranks of the beauty industry, becoming an Artistic Director for Redken and traveling internationally to educate and mentor aspiring stylists. Her passion for education and artistry eventually brought her to Los Angeles, where she made her mark in the world of celebrity styling and entertainment.

Kristin has worked with icons like Lionel Richie, collaborated with photographer Annie Leibovitz, and led hair departments for film, television, and commercial productions. Her credits include work for Netflix, Disney, MGM, CW, MTV, and red carpet events such as the Emmys, Golden Globes, and Oscars.

With a focus on creating customized, occasion-appropriate looks, Kristin is known for her professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to bring out the best in every client. She brings a grounded, creative energy to every project and is committed to excellence—on set, backstage, or behind the chair.
